A/D query... Ebon nastiness...
Ebon Daggers.
Death Blossom. Ebon Dust Aura. Does it do what I think it should do? If so, I might have to consider making another speciality build for Chae Soon besides his standard A/Me ID+ and the A/N SS variants. [For the incredibly dim, I'm asking whether an Assassin / Dervish with Ebon Daggers and Ebon Dust Aura active using Death Blossom will cause blindness to all enemies in the area as struck by the dual-attack skill in question.] |

That...... sucks. Ah well... so much for that idea.
But still... I suppose I could afford to try Ebon Dust Aura in an alternative Shiro-Killer build. Precisely why I need two separate builds for killing Shiro Tagachi.... I don't rightly know. Just seems like a fun idea to be able to repeatedly r4pe the end-of-factions boss. |

Unfortunately not. The AOE damage from death blossom does not count as hitting things (which is also a good thing in that it'll get them even if they're using whirling defense).

It also doesn't work with a ranger with barrage. only the targeted enemy is hit with blind.

The number of times I've written something and someone pops up and asks me for explanations of the very simplest concepts is quite astounding. Since I like making vague, shorthand posts... rather than change that, I sometimes just give a detailed explanation somewhere... along with my typical lowscale biting criticism for people who desperately need fundamental ideas explained. [Yes... I do tend to be arrogant and antisocial... but I assure you its entirely genetic. You can blame my parents.] |

The fact that you had to ask it makes you stupid to start off with. it says "...and all adjacent foes take xx dmg". Where does it say it hits them ( and so blinds them ? ). Might have thought of that one yourself. Don't worry, I still wub you |

Meh. Doesn't say that its elemental damage, or indeed any particular damage type. I just figured that since it was an assassin dagger attack with unspecified type that it was part of the attack.
And if we really want to get into semantics.... I wasn't questioning something that anyone else had written; merely pondering a thought that came to my mind having reviewed what little was available to me. ^_^ As an interesting thought... though slightly unconnected... how come there isn't an Earth Magic equivalent to the Fire, Air and Water magic invokey spells that make weapons of a particular elemental type do extra elemental damage? I want extra Ebon damage, damnit! |

"I'm using conjure dirt!"
It just sounds wrong. But yeah, it does seem like it is missing all things considered. |

Allow me to demonstrate:
[For the incredibly dim, if you actually read Death Blossom, you'll notice you don't hit adjacent foes, they just take damage, so Ebon Dust Aura won't work.] |

I don't suppose Ebon Dust Aura does anything to the various assassin attacks that already cause Earth damage, does it?
For some reason I've forgotten the names of them... but the impaley one which comes after Dual-Attacks and the triple thrown dagger thing you get right at the start... They both cause Earth damage and are attacks... right? Would those cause blindness? [Addendum: I'm not sure about the daggers now I think about it. Does it being labelled as a half-ranged spell mean it isn't an attack at all, despite the fact that it counts as a lead attack for combos if I remember rightly?] |

I'm all too aware of how often skill descriptions don't accurately match what is happening in the system, so I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Or perhaps you haven't had the necessary training (or mental capacity) to learn the difference between what genuinely is obvious and what isn't... This would be a case of the latter rather than the former, and if it weren't then it wouldn't have to be tested to be confirmed false. |

Or go R/Me with barrage and Arcane Mimicry. You will need a Dervish though.

Might be worth testing, but since it could only be used in the area where one or other was captured then its probably not going to be too useful either way. |
